RYT Ashtanga Yoga
Jayme started sampling yoga classes in NYC nearly 20 years ago. She was initially drawn to the style and teaching of Sri Dharma Mittra, whose gentle reminder was to “be receptive.” In 2013, she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training at Sacred Sounds Yoga in Greenwich Village, and after moving to Nashville in 2015, she found a novel steadiness in the Ashtanga sequences, within which she continues daily learning and observing the qualities of sustained practice. She currently practices with Jamie Bonelli and has practiced with several esteemed teachers, including David Swenson and Eddie Stern, and (soon) Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor. She sees teaching as a way of offering back the merit that others on the path of yoga have shown her.
She is an architect and mother, looking for alignment on and off the mat, with an affinity for chanting and the Iyengar method as discovered in Aretha McKinney's classes. Always a student, she carries the intention of being receptive and sustaining a lifelong practice and love for yoga.
